Easy SkyMesh uses Meshtastic clients with MQTT support to forward data to Easy SkyMesh server:
- MQTT Gateway: It is a Meshtastic client with MQTT support.
- Easy SkyMesh server: The server has a MQTT broker to receive MQTT data and timeseries to keep the data in long term.
Usecases
- To forward data (GPS location, chat messages, data entry…) from Mesh nodes to server
How it works
- Meshtastic nodes (trackers, sensors, chat messenger…) broadcast the data to the environment.
- MQTT gateways run as Meshtastic clients with MQTT support. They receive all messages from mesh nodes and forward to MQTT server.
- Optionally, we may need 4G/5G gateways if the Easy SkyMesh is deployed on a remote location or cloud.
Recommended devices
It is recommended to use commercial clients for commercial projects for better reliability and support.
- Commercial clients: WisMesh WiFi Gateway and WisMesh Ethernet MQTT Gateway
- DIY clients: You can still set Client role and MQTT settings for DIY nodes to act as MQTT Gateway.
